DVD Geeks - 07.06.09
2009-07-06
We played a bit of catch-up with some of the great titles that came out
over the last couple of weeks.
Starting with some fascinting documentaries, we relive the excitement of
man’s first walk on the moon with “Apollo 11: A Night to Remember” then
visit the comlpetely alien world of overacheiving New York toddlers in
“Nursery University.”
We also feature a couple of vastly different comedies, from the sublimely
silly imrpvosed antics of Reno’s finest in “Reno: 911 Season Six” to the
ridiculously overwrought “Pink Panther 2.”
Next up, we take a look at Fred Durst’s feature-film directorial debut
with “The Education of Charlie Banks” and wrap it all up with the adorable
Isla Fisher in “Confessions of a Shopaholic.” We’d call it a “chick flick”
but it was produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. We’ll see how well he works
explosions into a romatic comedy.
All that plus geek picks “The Right Stuff” and “Dead Poet’s Society”!
